Hannah Grinnan

Hannah Grinnan

Hannah Grinnan had two strikes against her at birth.

Born with a defective heart, doctors knew the infant would require a heart transplant – and minutes, days counted. As nervous parents and siblings kept their eyes on tiny Hannah while awaiting news of a compatible heart being found, LifeStream blood donors kept their eyes on another prize. They kept giving, silently and without fanfare, for those they likely would never know or meet. Not all recipients can thank them. Hannah Grinnan couldn’t. At 11 days, the Grinnan family received the news a compatible heart had been found. Hannah received her new heart.

That was in 1998. Today, Hannah’s parents and siblings say “thank you” by donating blood. And Hannah is in college, pursuing her dreams.
