“Baby Paisley” won the hearts of a community as her own was failing. At just 5 months, Rick and Charity Arnold’s tiny firstborn received a heart transplant. LifeStream blood donors helped get her to that point. Paisley needed many transfusions while the search was on for a compatible heart.
“The gift of blood donation is tangible, something you can see at work,” said Charity Arnold. “And we did.”
On March 17, 2013, Paisley received her new heart. It was St. Patrick’s Day – a day now forever called “St. Paisley Day” by her grateful parents. In all, “Baby Paisley” required 41 units of blood. The Arnolds are proud advocates of giving and join others in the front lines of donation, knowing their gifts are needed, perhaps for the most innocent among us.
